Argentina are through to the final eight following a last-gasp 1-0 victory against Switzerland.

It took 118 minutes, but Lionel Messi made it happen as Argentina advances with a 1-0 extra-time win over Switzerland.

The Argentine magician turned a Swiss turnover into a beautiful run that set up Angel di Maria's winner. The Swiss were so very close to leveling the game, but Blerem Dzemaili's extra-time header struck the post and Argentina was off the hook.

Argentina will play the winner of the USA-Belgium match in the next round of the 2014 World Cup.
