United States lost to Germany in rainy Recife, but thanks to a 2-1 Portugal victory over Ghana, the Americans will advance to the knockout round.
Thomas Müller’s goal in the 55th minute gave the Germans a 1-0 victory.
Germany won Group G, and Portugal and Ghana were eliminated.
The U.S. next game will be on July 1, when they will likely face Belgium, who looks to win Group H later today.
