FIFA World Cup 2014: Mexico beat Cameroon

Mexico started their World Cup campaign with a vital victory over Cameroon, though a couple of peculiar decisions by the referee meant it was far from routine.

Oribe Peralta scored the all important goal for the Mexicans as they kicked off their 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign on a winning note.

With this win, Mexico are on second place in the standings behind Brazil on goal difference. It was important for them to pick up full points as their next two games are against Brazil and Croatia.

Cameroon did not create too many chances in the match with star man Samuel Eto'o not making any impact for the Africans. Javier Hernandez started on the bench for the Mexicans and came on only late during the second half.

Result:
Mexico beat Cameroon with 1-0
